A 455 m² hall and variable recording rooms – designed for any genre.
Recording Spaces
The Hall

Built in the late 19th century, our 455 m² hall was once a ballroom — today, it’s renowned for its outstanding acoustics.
Whether for a full symphony orchestra, a chamber ensemble, solo instruments or vocals, the unique combination of surface materials, vintage microphones, and two and a half grand pianos provides every sound with the space and color it deserves. With direct visibility to Control Room 1, Recording 2, and Recording 4, flexible setups and seamless communication are guaranteed.
Continuing the legacy of Telefunken and Decca — later Teldec — many iconic recordings have been made right here.
Recording 2

Recording 2 benefits from direct visual connection to Control Room 1, Control Room 2, and The Hall.
It’s often used for upright piano, drums, guitar, or vocal recordings. In larger setups, musicians can record here simultaneously with those in the other recording spaces – all connected via headphones.
Recording 3

This space is a hybrid between a recording room and Lounge 1.
It’s used for small setups, with multiple musicians recording together in the same room. For certain jazz aesthetics, it can sometimes be a better fit thanks to its less reverberant atmosphere compared to The Hall.
Like the other recording spaces, it connects to the rest of the studio via headphones and offers direct visual contact with Control Room 1.
Recording 4

This cute little recording room offers direct visual contact with both The Hall and Control Room 1.
It’s often referred to as “the harp room”, as in film scoring sessions we frequently place the harp here while the orchestra plays in the hall – for maximum signal separation. It’s also used for vocals, double bass, guitar amps, or as a mobile live video control room.
Control rooms equipped for recording, editing, mixing, and mastering – up to Dolby Atmos 7.1.4.
Control Rooms
Control Room 1

Our flagship control room offers direct views to The Hall and to Recording 2, Recording 3, and Recording 4.
With a generous size of 60 m², natural daylight, state-of-the-art acoustics, and 5.1 surround monitoring, it stands as our finest workspace.
Whether recording, mixing, or mastering, it consistently delivers outstanding results. Entire film music production teams find here the space and environment they need during recording sessions, in combination with Lounge 1.

One of the favorite post-production rooms among musicians – thanks to its cozy vintage Altbau charm.

Barbecue, ping pong, table football – refresh your ears between sessions.
Lounges & Garden
Lounge 1

This lounge – also used as Recording 3 – is arguably the coziest spot in the studio when it’s time for a break, or to connect and collaborate.
Located at the heart of all recording spaces, it features an open kitchen and direct access to the garden, where a barbecue and ping-pong table await. For larger sessions, Teldex is happy to organize catering.
Lounge 2

Whenever you’re recording from Control Room 3, chances are you’ll end up taking a nap in this lounge at some point.
In addition to a spacious kitchen, it features a table football, cozy shelves full of scores, and a selection of highlights from Teldex’s extensive archive of recordings – ready to be explored.
If desired, we’re happy to organize catering.
Coffee Kitchen

Every musician who’s ever been at Teldex for post-production knows the upstairs.
It’s where some of our team members quietly work behind the scenes – often unnoticed during recording sessions. The coffee kitchen is the go-to spot for a quick break in the middle of daily business, and for chatting about the latest recordings.
Come say hi – even while a session is happening downstairs!
Garden

Teldex is known for its quiet atmosphere – the most common quote we hear is: “You’d never believe we’re in Berlin!”
The chestnut trees with their jumping squirrels, the barbecue, the ping-pong table, and the deck chairs are all part of what gives the studio its unique feel.
Those who record at Teldex benefit not only from the silence during takes, but also from the calm between sessions – the perfect setting to truly unwind.
Two and a half grand pianos and a ton of vintage microphones.
Instruments & Equipment
Microphones

One of Teldex’s true highlights is our extensive collection of vintage microphones.
The Neumann M50 and M49 – from the 1940s and ’50s – are a perfect match for the hall and essential to our signature sound. That’s why they’re used in almost every recording. Many other legendary vintage microphones that are no longer manufactured – like the U47, U48, U67, TLM50, RCA 77-DX, you name it – are also available in generous numbers and used regularly, alongside all relevant microphones of the younger generation.
Since we record all over the world, our inventory includes not only a large selection of microphones, but also mobile setups – enabling us to work on the road with high channel counts and uncompromising quality. Want us to come to you? No problem – we’ll bring everything we need.

Steinway D

Have you heard that a grand piano can be two instruments in one?
Like a transformer, our Steinway D can switch between two different actions, turning into two distinct sound worlds: one keyboard offers a faster response and a more direct tone, while the other plays softer and rounder. Combined with our Yamaha CFX, you have a wide range of piano colors at your fingertips.
Our expert piano technician partners support your recording with a range of services – from a single daily tuning to full on-site presence. Feel free to drop by and try all two and a half grand pianos for yourself!
Yamaha CFX

Thanks to our partnership with Yamaha, we can offer a top-tier CFX of the latest generation.
This opens up entirely new sonic possibilities and expands the creative options available to pianists. We’re happy to set up a blind test – just choose the instrument that best suits your repertoire!
Our expert piano technician partners are experienced with all two and a half instruments, allowing you to flexibly choose your preferred piano – even at the last minute.
